On Friday evening, 8 March, a panel discussion was organized by the UoC on the occasion of International Women's Day.
After the opening by Pamela Rusch, who played the role of MC, the evening started with a welcome speech by the Rector Magnificus (RM) of the UoC, Dr. Francis de Lanoy. He reflected on the fact that women have proven for years in all areas of the world that they play an important role in society. He pointed out that the role of women in the workplace has changed in recent years and has become more prominent.
The UoC, where 65% of the staff is currently female, was taken as an example by Mr. De Lanoy. In addition to congratulation to all women, the RM ended its welcome speech with a quote from Margareth Thatcher, who found support among those present: “If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.”
