Information session new program Bachelor in International Hospitality & Tourism Management

Last Saturday the University of Curaçao Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez (UoC) held its information session  about the new program Bachelor in International Hospitality & Tourism Management in Dreams Curaçao Resort. This session was organized for all people who want to follow a bachelor program in this fascinating world of hospitality and tourism.

Striking was the great interest of those present who asked many questions about the program.

At the beginning of the presentation, Ms. Pamela Rusch from the UoC introduced the speakers, whom included Mrs. Marvis Koeiman, dean of the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, together with Dr. Randolph Camelia, acting dean. Also present were Dr. Dino Daal and Mrs. Muguette Bernadina, both teachers of the new program.

Attendees also enjoyed the two great speakers, Mr. Ricardo Esteban, GM of Dreams and Sunscape Resorts, and Mr. Paul Pennicook, CEO of CTB Tourism Office, who both gave an inspiring and motivational speech to the attendees. Both emphasized the resilience of the hospitality and tourism industry, the dynamic aspects of working in the hospitality industry, the perspectives that tourism offers in the coming years and the importance of investing in people now.

After an interesting explanation of the new study program by Ms. Pamela Rusch, Ms. Juliette Mendez of the Curaçao Student Finance Foundation (SSC) provided a detailed explanation of the possibilities of study financing for a study at the UoC. The deadline for an application for student finance is August 31, 2020. Those interested must have registered for the UoC program before that date. See www.uoc.cw for more information.

At the end Ms. Rusch informed attendees that there is a chance to win a brand new laptop, offered by CHATA, for students who have registered for the Bachelor in International Hospitality & Tourism Management program. The students who want to participate in this campaign must write a motivation letter explaining why they want to win the laptop, and also make a 1 minute video in Papiamento why he/she has chosen a career in the fascinating world of hospitality & tourism. These must be sent to info@chata.org before August 31.
