Master of Science in Accountancy

The Master in Accountancy prepares students for postgraduate studies in Accountancy whereby the students can be trained to assume top positions in the Accountancy professions, namely as a Registered Accountant (RA)/Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

The objective of the MSc-program is to provide students with in-depth knowledge and skills in the fields of auditing, internal control, corporate governance and financial accounting.

Moreover, students learn how to analyze and diagnose complex accounting problems found in practice and to present recommendations on how to solve them, both on an individual basis and as a member of a team. Furthermore, students learn how to approach complex accounting problems in an integrated manner and to manage change processes.

This program is a two year part-time program divided over four semesters. The curriculum is comprised of 8 modules including a graduation thesis.

The MSc program in Accountancy is offered twice a week in the evening hours from 18.00 until 21.00  (except for the six intensive weeks 8.00-13.00).


These are the specific details of the admission requirements :

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy or Accountancy & Control or its equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Economics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or its equivalent.

Students who (only) have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commercial Economics or any other concentration that's not Accountancy will have to take deficiency-levelling courses (i.e. pre-master courses) here at the UoC.
