The Business and Management Studies program is a bachelor of applied science program meaning that this program is professionally oriented and specific to practical methods and systems within the Business and Management fields.

The Bachelor program in Business & Management Studies provide professionals with critical thinking and problem solving skills in the specialized areas Marketing Management and International Business Management. These professionals are trained to be sustainability - conscious individuals that consider the impact on environment, people and profit on all their decisions.

The Bachelor program in Business & Management Studies has two specialized areas: Marketing Management and International Business Management.

International Business and Management Studies

International Business and Management Studies

The International Business and Management Studies Major provides an overview of the environment, concepts, and basic differences involved in international business. Topics include forms of foreign involvement, international trade theory, governmental influences on trade and strategies, international organizations, multinational corporations, personnel management, and international marketing.
Besides these professional foundations, students become competent in intercultural leadership, co-operation and communication, in analysis, creative problem solving, planning and learning abilities. First and foremost is an insight into other cultures and the ability to adapt to these other cultures.

Marketing Management

The MM Major program prepares students for an entry-levels position in marketing management. An important development in the marketing area both locally and internationally is the increase in the use of social media for promotions. The focus on customers remains the most influential trend in this area. Effective networking is an important aspect of every business and professional, especially for professionals in Curaçao due to its small size. New business developments often depend on networks. The ability to make use of Customer Relationship Management tools is a crucial requirement for the marketing profession.
